Volunteering weaves a strong web for the Gatton Redbacks

24 May 2024

Adam Halstead has been a true cornerstone of the Gatton Redbacks Football Club since it was founded in 1991.

Now, in his 34th consecutive playing year, Adam is serving his ninth year as Club President, after two years as Vice President, and has been coaching since he was 15.

Adam's love for the game, his passion for sharing his knowledge and his commitment to seeing the club thrive and progress drive him to volunteer. Now with his 3 daughters playing, Adam finds immense joy in witnessing their shared passion and finds being part of the Redbacks family incredibly rewarding.

Aside from his own volunteering endeavours, Adam appreciates the hard work and dedication of the club’s other volunteers and its 17 Life Members. Their relentless efforts ensure the club provides a healthy, happy, and safe environment for players, members, and the community. In a true testament to their dedication, the club has grown immensely since its origin, even achieving its highest participation rate in history in 2024!

Join us in celebrating Adam and all of the wonderful volunteers who are the true lifeblood of Queensland’s active industry.

Happy National Volunteer Week, Adam!
