Fantastic ‘net’ result for Caboolture Sports Club

12 Jul 2024

The Caboolture Sports Club has officially opened its new cricket nets, providing the local community with enhanced participation opportunities at the Grant Road Sports Complex.

The club received $250,000 from Round 1 of the Queensland Government’s Minor Infrastructure Program (MIP) to replace the old nets and improve the quality and safety of cricket facilities.

The project saw the ageing 3-lane outdoor nets replaced with new 5-lane outdoor nets.

MIP is designed to help Queensland’s active industry deliver new, upgraded and end-of-life infrastructure projects and works, and is administered by the Department of Tourism and Sport.

Through Round 1 of the program, 91 shovel-ready projects shared in total funding of $16.36 million.

Round 2 was combined with the $30 million Inclusive Facilities Fund to deliver $45 million in infrastructure projects that enhance community sport and active recreation.

MIP is an initiative that supports the Queensland Government’s 10-year Activate! Queensland strategy which aims to get more Queenslanders moving, more often.
